Job Description
Protik is a local NFP organization created as a joint contribution of the United States Agency for International Development USAID, the Albanian American Development Foundation, the Government of Albania, Microsoft, Cisco and Albtelecom. The mission of Protik is to catalyze the development of Albania’s ICT industry by fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, stimulating demand for ICT, and promoting partnerships and networking.
Protik Center is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Finance Officer – The Finance Officer (FO) is responsible for maintaining financial operations of the Protik center. This includes financial planning to achieve strategic objectives of the center and participation in developing new business by assisting the CEO and other Protik staff in identifying new funding opportunities. Other duties include:
Oversee and manage daily accounting and finance functions.
Plan and implement systems for financial operations in accordance with the manuals, donor regulations and local legislation, including systems for cash flow management, budgeting, etc.
Provide monthly standard accounting submissions to donors including general ledger files, account reconciliations, expenditures by cost center/project and other required sub-grantee reporting.
Provide monthly management reports to the CEO and the Board
Develop annual fiscal year budgets with the CEO and develop and implement grant budgeting and forecasting systems.
Develop and maintain office policies and procedures and provide training as necessary to staff
Other duties as assigned.
Successful candidates will have a BA/S or equivalent in accounting or finance, progressive financial management experience, excellent knowledge of one financial software, and ability to adapt to other accounting systems. Experience working with QuickBooks is considered a distinct advantage. Some experience in grant management preferred. Computer skills including Excel, word-processing programs, and outlook or alternative email program at a highly proficient level.
