Sheraton Tirana Hotel, the first 5 star hotel in Albania which is one of the 1000 hotels of the Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide inc., since 7 years is operating in the Albanian market. Lately employment opportunity to the Kitchen department is offered to support the kitchen team. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates to apply for:
Position title: Junior Souse chef
Responsible for the kitchen operating during shift worked, in absence of the Souse chef/Executive chef. Liaise with F&B Manager regarding food preparation and presentation with the chief Steward to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards and with Engineering Department to insure that all equipment is in proper order.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Demonstrate initiative at all times
Supervise, train the staff.
Check and coordinate with Kitchen outlets Restaurant/Banquet Manager assignments for Banquet Events Orders, special orders and events.
Strong desire to improve on skills and knowledge
Supervises the work of the kitchen staff on a specific shift to ensure food preparation standards are followed.
Ensures that the kitchen equipment is in proper working order and issues maintenance orders for its repair.
Trains the staff in accordance with planed training programs and correct production errors/methods as found necessary.
Maintains waste at a minimum and determines that portion control is followed to insure that the require food cost percentage is obtained.
Initiates and participates in creative selling, merchandising, decoration and preparation ideas.
Assist in revising new recipes.
Liaise with stewarding Department to ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained in all kitchens, its fixtures and equipment.
Liaise with the Restaurant and Banquet Managers regarding food preparation, presentation, specials menus and seasonal specialties
Ensures that all cooked goods are visually attractive and eye appealing by checking and testing on regular basis and prepared in an appetizing manner

Under the general guidance and supervision of the Executive Chef or delegate and within the limits of established SHERATON Policies and procedures, responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the kitchen.
Makes sure that standard recipes are respected.
Help Executive chef to controls supplies
Requirements: Minimum 2 years experienced in the same position
Good knowledge of spoken and written Albanian & English
Supervisory skills applied in the past.
Starting date: August 15, 2014
